From Mark Sisson's Weekend Link Love this past weekend comes this:   Soy protein present in egg yolks and chicken tissues .  Ruh roh!!  Mark writes: It’s confirmed: meat and eggs from soy-fed chickens contain soy isoflavones . The title of the article – “Soy protein present in egg yolks and chicken tissues” – isn’t quite accurate, but soy isoflavones are often phytoestrogens and thus somewhat concerning. Boys are reaching puberty younger than ever before, a new study shows, but “it’s unclear why.” Perhaps the phytoestrogens from soy-fed chicken products are involved?

Childhood Nutrition ... The Egg Survey Results!

I haven't forgotten my Egg Survey!  Thanks to all who participated, and essentially confirmed my memories of this aspect of childhood were quite "average".   There were also quite a few new names amongst the responders so I'd like to extend my belated welcome to the Asylum!  First my own answers (and for my husband as well), and then a brief summary:

From  NutritionData.com for 1 Large (50g) Egg, Poached Note the O6:O3 ratio   572 mg/37 mg amounts to a >15:1 ratio! A whole egg is ~10% fat by weight, 63% by calories (likely a bit less as grams are rounded)
